Appearance at PPDT
Dress and appearance reflect pride and self-image. Candidates appearing at the SSB are expected to be in formal wear — the assessors take note from the moment you walk in.
A few candidates appear for the PPDT in jeans and T-shirts. Some don't shave; some wear slippers. Such candidates will be screened out.
Why appearance matters at SSB
Dress and appearance reflect pride and self-image. Personnel of the Armed Forces don their uniforms with pride and project themselves in a neat and elegant manner. It is part of the services ethos, and the assessors are looking for candidates who already share it.
What to wear
Candidates appearing at the SSB are expected to be in formal wear — ironed dark trousers, a light full-sleeved shirt, polished shoes, a shaven beard and well-groomed hair will certainly make a positive impression on the assessors.
