A few candidates appear for the PPDT wearing jeans and T shirts. Some of them do not shave
their beards and some wear slippers. Needless to say, such candidates will be screened out.

Dress and appearance reflect pride and self image of a person. Personnel of the Armed Forces
don their uniforms with pride and project themselves in a neat and elegant manner. It is part
of the services ethos.

Candidates appearing at the SSB are therefore expected to be in formal wear. Ironed dark
trousers and light full sleeved shirt, polished shoes, shaven beard and well groomed hair will
certainly make a positive impression on the assessors.
